Maskne Prevention Tips
Never skimp on cleansing! Mandy suggests using a BHA cleanser, like a product formulated with salicylic acid to exfoliate skin and unclog pores. She also uses a more lightweight, gel-type moisturizer to keep her skin hydrated and refreshed.
For those with dry or sensitive skin type, Zoe recommends using a moisturizing and gentle cleanser followed by a skin-calming toner or a PHA product. For moisturizer, she suggests trying an emulsion or lotion if gel cream is not moisturizing enough.
For an emerging pimple, Zoe relies on Dear Klairs’s Midnight Blue Calming line to relieve skin irritation and inflammation.
Take Mandy’s advice on fading acne scars and revitalizing skin by incorporating a Vitamin C skin care product into your skin care routine. Niacinamide is another ingredient to look out for if you want to improve hyperpigmentation, minimize pores and rebalance oil-water levels. Zoe also recommends bakuchiol to help speed up skin cell renewal and prevent a buildup of impurities.
It can be hard to ditch makeup completely. Mandy prefers to not wear makeup and go bare-skinned as much as possible to let the skin breath. If you must apply a touch of makeup, turn to a BB cream and concealer. Zoe has minimized her skin care steps by opting for a lightweight tinted moisturizer instead of her regular foundation.
